Why the rate depends on the address

An Indiana property is taxed by every unit its tax district covers: the county, the township, the city or town if it's in one, the school corporation, the library and any special districts. All of Staunton shares the same combination.

Your tax bill, or your county's appraisal or assessment office, lists the units for your property.
